PATCHWAY TOWN        3

FRY CLUB COLTS          6

After another 3 week break from matches due to bad weather and league cup commitments for our opponents, we went on our travels again to the other side of town, this time taking a near full squad of players.

A strong start by both teams tested the defences as the pace of the game increased through the first 20 minutes. Both James Boulton and Brad Monelle went close but it was from a Mo Bouaziz corner that Frys took the lead with a great header from Captain Oli Randall. Further good runs from Mo and Oli in midfield continued our dominance up until half time with good support out wide from Dean Lapham and Kyle Curtis. In defence James Hurrell Smith was kept busy, sweeping up when necessary and Keeper Craig Francis was proving strong with his distribution and keeping skills.

The second half started at the same fast pace and Patchway worked an opening down our right and won a penalty draw level. 5 minutes later James Boulton forced an error in Patchway’s penalty box to win the second penalty of the game and from the spot James made no mistake to restore our lead. However, from a good run and cross from Patchway’s right midfield, the ball was deflected into our net by Kyle Curtis to level the game once again. However, we were proving much the stronger team and 2 further goals from Brad Monelle and Mo Bouaziz put us well in control of the game. The goal of the match though came from the Man of the Match James Boulton whose ‘never say die’ attitude forced him into the Patchway box to win a wonderful tackle, turn back outside the box with the ball and chip and curl the ball into the top corner to put the game beyond doubt. Patchway did pull back a third goal with another quality strike but Mo Bouaziz had the last word with our sixth goal to cap a great team display.

This was probably our most satisfying win to date as Patchway were a strong team, but we were collectively so much better.

Although James Boulton was deservedly awarded our MoM, there were notable displays from his Striking partner Brad Monelle and the 2 Midfielders Mo Bouaziz and Oli Randall.
